Rev. Thomas A. Flowers

Rev. Thomas A. Flowers can best be described as multi-dimensional. As a lover of history, an advocate for the poor and helpless, a staunch pro-life supporter, educator, and priest, Fr. Flowers has received awards and recognition from local and national organizations and has been named to three Who's Who directories. Born in Wilmington in 1951, he received a B.A. in History at the University of Delaware and an M.A. in Divinity at St. Mary's Seminary & University School of Theology in Baltimore. Ordained in 1977, he served as associate pastor at St. Hedwig in Wilmington, St. John's-Holy Angels in Newark, and St. Catherine of Siena near Prices Corner. In 1992 he took over St. Joseph in Middletown, with missions at St. Rose of Lima in Chesapeake City, Md., and St. Francis Xavier near Warwick, Md. After a decade in Middletown, he became pastor of St. Polycarp in Smyrna in 2002 and oversaw extensive renovation of the clergy residence and completion of a Parish Life Center. In 2010 he burned the mortgage two years early. He opened The Academy at St. Polycarp for pre-schoolers in September, 2005; a kindergarten was added two years later. He is a life member of the NRA and the Knights of Columbus and he serves as an honorary member of the board of directors for The Shepherd's Place, a homeless shelter in Dover. Israel A. Gonzalez

Israel A. Gonzalez retired in 2010 after a twenty-five year career with AstraZeneca. He held several positions with AZ and most recently, he was an Area Director where he was accountable for a Division of over 700 employees and several billion dollars in sales. Izzy also served as the Executive Director of Sales Training and Leadership Development where he was responsible for developing and implementing programs to train Sales Representatives and develop the leadership skills of Sales Managers and Directors. Izzy won the coveted CEO Transformation Award for revamping how training and leadership development were delivered at AstraZeneca. He created an innovative, state-of the-art training and leadership development program which was shown to have a direct impact on the sales of the organization. Izzy also worked closely with Curt Coffman author of First Break all the Rules to introduce the principles of employee engagement. He trained Leaders how to establish a culture of employee engagement within their individual teams and how engaged employees can effect the company's financial results. Izzy is an advocate for people with disabilities and he served as the Vice-President of the Board of Directors for The Arc of Delaware. He worked closely with the Board and Executive Director to steer the nonprofit group through a series of challenging financial crises. He along with his parents and sister, fled Cuba in 1960 and settled in Wilmington. Izzy speaks fluent Spanish. He has been married to his wife Jenny, an English teacher, for thirty-four years and they have two children, Molly and Chris. Glenn Kenton

Glenn Kenton has been a director (partner) of Delaware's largest law firm, Richards, Layton & Finger, P.A., since 1985. He represents many major U.S. corporations, insurance and financial firms doing business in Delaware including General Motors, American International Group, Hong Kong Shanghai Bank, Nissan, Caterpillar, Christiana Care, Sallie Mae, JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo Bank and Wilmington Trust Company. From 1977 through 1985, Glenn was Secretary of State of Delaware during the administration of Governor Pete duPont, overseeing Delaware's corporation division, the nation's largest regulator of corporations. While Secretary of State, Mr. Kenton led Delaware's effort to deregulate the nation's banking industry, a step that led to the relocation to Delaware of many of the nation's largest commercial banks. Mr. Kenton is a member of the Delaware Bar Association, a director of the Grand Opera House, Russian Ballet Theater of Delaware, and Burris Logistics. After growing up in Milford, Delaware and attending Milford High School, Glenn graduated from Swarthmore College (1965) and Georgetown University Law Center (1968). Clinton S. Laird

In 2010, Mr. Laird retired as CEO of Universata, a national healthcare IT firm specializing in the HIPAA compliant exchange of medical records. He remains a director with the corporation which is influential in the national discussion of medical record inoperability and related issues. Retiring from a 25 year career in the insurance industry in 1999, Mr. Laird was a founding investor and executive with CapMed in early 2000. CapMed, now called HealthManager, is a personal health record company and industry leader. Mr. Laird's background includes positions as Board Chairman of the Blood Bank of Delmarva and a member of the Board of Managers of the Nemours Foundation and the A. I. duPont Hospital for Children. He was Board Chairman of Contact Wilmington and a board member of the YMCA of Delaware and The United Way of Delaware. Currently he serves as a director of the Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation and Trellist Ventures, a Wilmington based organization focused on developing novel partnering opportunities to the Private Equity and Venture Capital communities nationally. David R. Legates, PhD.

David R. Legates is a Professor of Climatology at the University of Delaware and served as the Delaware State Climatologist from 2005 to 2011. He also is an adjunct faculty in the Statistics Program. He received his B.A. in Mathematics and Geography (double major - cum laude) in 1982 and his Doctorate in Climatology in 1988 from the University of Delaware. He spent 9½ years as a professor in the College of Geosciences at the University of Oklahoma and 1½ years as a professor at Louisiana State University before returning to the University of Delaware in 1999. He has been invited twice to appear before the United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and has given more than 120 invited professional presentations. He is recognized as a Certified Consulting Meteorologist by the American Meteorological Society and is the recipient of the 2002 Boeing Autometric Award in Image Analysis and Interpretation by the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. Tommy attended East Tennessee University, earning his B.S. degree in Marketing and Economics. He obtained his Delaware real estate license in 1972 and served as Executive Vice President and COO of one of the largest publicly traded real estate firms on the east coast. He established Cooper Realty Associates in 1982 and has personally settled in excess of $500 million in real estate transactions. A former Chairman of the Delaware State Real Estate Commission, he is currently the Chairman of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce; a Commissioner of the State Magistrate Screening Commission; a Trustee of Beebe Hospital Foundation; a member of the River Front Development Corporation Board of Directors; and, a former Delaware River and Bay Authority Commissioner.
