Bring Caesar Rodney Home

For nearly a century, the Caesar Rodney statue stood proudly in Wilmington's Rodney Square, honoring the Delaware patriot whose legendary overnight ride secured Delaware's vote for American independence. In 2020, the statue was removed and placed into storage. Today, it is temporarily displayed at Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., as part of America's 250th anniversary celebration—but its permanent future remains uncertain.

The Caesar Rodney Institute believes Delaware should preserve and proudly display this important piece of our state's history. We invite you to sign the petition and tell us where you believe the statue belongs.
