Washington, D.C. | National Mall | June 25–July 10, 2026
Delaware is taking its place on the National Mall as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration. Through the Caesar Rodney 250 initiative, the Delaware Pavilion will showcase the history, innovation, culture, and spirit of the First State.
Celebrate the First State on a National Stage
As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, Delaware — the First State — will be represented at the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C.
The Delaware Pavilion will tell the story of how one small state helped shape a strong nation — from Caesar Rodney’s historic ride for independence to Delaware’s leadership in agriculture, business, coastal communities, innovation, and civic life.

In 1776, Caesar Rodney rode through the night to cast the deciding vote for independence—securing Delaware’s place as The First State in a free America. His unwavering commitment to liberty reminds us that one individual’s courage can alter the course of history.
The CaesarRodney250 initiative honors this legacy by bringing history to life through live events, civic education, and storytelling that connect Delaware’s past to America’s future.
Our American Story
begins here — in Delaware — where freedom found its first voice.
From Delaware’s fields to Independence Hall, Caesar Rodney’s courage changed history.
Past Events Across Delaware
